Former Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has joined the global family to celebrate former Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu.
The former Black Stars skipper issued an emotional tribute to the late Christian Atsu ahead of the burial of the latter in the nation’s capital.
In a simple tribute written by Asamoah Gyan, the Ghanaian icon heaped kind words on his departed teammate, describing him as a close confidant.
Christian Atsu and Asamoah Gyan both played for the Ghana Black Stars for over 10 years capped by the 2015 AFCON.
A dreadful earthquake in Turkey swept many people away including Christian Atsu less than 24 hours after playing his last football match.

Christian was one of my favourite players and also one
Of the guys very close to my heart. I’m not God but the trust Christian had in me was unbelievable. He always tells me “ Asa , please try and play every game for us cos I don’t see us wining without you “. Anytime he sees me, he shakes he head and starts laughing. After every goal I score , Christian always walks to me and always say “ Asa, Nyame shira wo ( God bless you). My heart is in pain for loosing and humble, innocent and unbelievable footballer like Christian. Thank you for Everything. Rest IN Peace Brother.
